Road Trippin’

Travelling in a rented RV across Nova Scotia, it was time to become tourists in their own province for these two hosts during the middle of a pandemic.

From one end of Nova Scotia to the other, it was learning to fish for lobster, learning to shuck oysters, and catching mackerel, among many other unique activities. Directed and written by Andrew Younger of Whalesong Group Inc for Garnan Productions. This show aired on Eastlink in 2022.

S1E1

And We’re Off

On the very first episode of Road Trippin' Alicia and Tyson embark on their very first RV road trip! They start off with a bang and visit Raging Crow Distillery in North River, and stock up on supplies at Jamieson’s General Store. When evening falls they spend their first night in the RV at Sunset Watch Campground in Tatamagouche, where they get a crash course in RV living.

On The Waves

On episode 2 of Road Trippin' we venture with our hosts to Malagash and Scotsburn! Alicia and Tyson get a bit more comfortable with the RV life. Bright and early they go lobster fishing, and try their hand at shucking the world famous North Shore oysters at Bay Enterprises Ltd.

Ranch Life

On this episode of Road Trippin' in Scotsburn, Alicia and Tyson get to spend more time with horses, goats, sheep and even a little pig! This time, they ride the horses at Shelby Ranch and they even get to feed some baby lambs at Lismore Sheep Farm.

Cape Breton Bound

On this episode of Road Trippin', Alicia and Tyson are on their way to Cape Breton Island! They get their feet wet at Myles Doyles Falls, fuel up at Big Spruce, and visit Orangedale Railway Station Museum and Alexander Graham Bell Museum. It is today that we learn of Tyson’s love for museums!! At the end of the day, Alicia and Tyson set up camp at Baddeck Cabot Trail Campground, and Alicia has a surprise for Tyson!

Island Life

Tyson and Alicia have arrived in Cape Breton, and embark on a beautiful adventure! Their first stop on the island is Membertou Heritage Park where they learn about Mi’kmaq history and culture, and behold the largest basket in Canada. Next, they explore a real mine at Cape Breton Miner’s Museum. After a big day Alicia and Tyson refresh themselves at Breton Brewing.

Surfs Up

RV life on the beach? Yes please! On this episode of Road Trippin’ Alicia and Tyson tackle surfing lessons from East Coast Surf School in Lawrencetown, then venture to Mahone Bay where they witness the incredible process of pewter crafting in the workshop of Amos Pewter. Next, they have a delicious bite at Mateus Bistro, and make their last stop at Crossroad Farm.

South Shore Adventure

On this episode of Road Trippin' Alicia and Tyson explore Lunenburg’s history, beauty and food. There they visit Ironworks Distillery and hear about the history of the distillery, and how our drinks are made! Then they get to learning at The Fisheries Museum, and enjoy NS famous lobster rolls at The South Shore Fish Shack! They stop by Dory Mates Seafood Shop to get fresh supper supplies, and cook mussels for the very first time at the Ovens!

Rocks and Pastry

This week on Road Trippin' Alicia and Tyson explore the Ovens pan for gold. The next stop is LaHave, but there’s an obstacle: Alicia and Tyson must navigate the ferry first! They hit the LaHave Bakery which is their last stop before the Fort Point Museum.

Shelburne to Barrington

Black history, axe throwing, boats, extraterrestrials… What more could you possibly want? Alicia and Tyson take us to Shelburne where they visit the Dory Shop Museum, and then go to the Black Loyalist Heritage Centre to learn what makes Shelburne the home of Black history in Nova Scotia. Then they hop over to the Wild Axe Lumberjack AXEperience for some axe throwing and not-at-all-embarrassing log rolling! They end the day with an unbelievable experience at the Shag Harbour Incident Society UFO Interpretive Centre!

S1E10

Catching Fish

Have you heard of the Mackerel toss of Yarmouth!? You won’t want to miss this! Catch Tyson and Alicia  on this week’s episode competing in this unique activity at Yarmouth. After the fishy competition, Alicia and Tyson fuel up at Bailey's Bakery, Seafood & Grill, and finally, they get the grand tour of Cape Forchu Lighthouse!

S1E11

Valley Living

On this episode of Road Trippin' Alicia and Tyson are getting comfortable with the RV life in The Valley. They learn some beautiful history at Grand Pré National Historic Site, learn all about Wolfville at Randall House Museum, and tour Nova Scotia’s oldest vineyard, Domain de Grand Pré. At the end of the day’s adventure, they park their RV and enjoy some farmer’s golf in the scenic fields of Hennigar's Farm.

S1E12

Cheese and Rocks

Alicia  and Tyson make their way to Cumberland County this week, where they start off with a bang at That Dutchman’s Cheese Farm. Next, they tour behind the scenes at the spectacular Ship’s Company Theatre, and lastly are mind blown by the “rock solid history” at Joggins Fossil Cliffs!

S1E13

It’s A Wrap

On the way back to Truro Alicia and Tyson visit Springhill Miner’s Museum where they get to go down into another mine. They learn more about what life was like in the mines, and afterwards they reminisce about their favourite parts of this RV Road Trip.
